New tour announcements – The Cannanes, Bushwalking, Pikelet, Darren Sylvester!

BWCannPikeDSWith a bevy of releases still to come this year (from Pikelet, Bushwalking, Darren Sylvester, the Ancients, and more yet to be announced) it’s a veritable whirlwind of new singles, videos, instores and launches at the moment at Chapter HQ. So here’s a round-up of gig news from our ever-expanding stable of auteur savant genii!


Sydney-via-Bendigo DIY icons the Cannanes announce launch dates for their first album in more than a decade, Howling At All Hours, which came out last month on Chapter. The Melbourne launch will include two sets from the band (who celebrate their 30th anniversary next year), featuring a glittering array of Cannanes members past and present!

Eerie, hypnotic Melbourne/Sydney trio Bushwalking announce launches for their second album No Enter, which comes out on Chapter on September 6. The band comprises Nisa Venerosa of Fabulous Diamonds, Ela Stiles of Sydney band Songs and Karl Scullin of Kes Band, and matches Venerosa and Stiles’ psychic harmonies to Scullin’s piercing guitar tones.

Melbourne synth-pop adventurers Pikelet are back with dazzling third album Calluses, out August 16 on Chapter. Launches in Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle were announced last month, and now a bunch of supports, plus two more shows in Hobart and Brisbane, have been added to the tour. They’ve also announced a Melbourne instore at Polyester Records’ city store for the Friday August 16, the album’s release date!

Melbourne one-man sauve fest Darren Sylvester is launching his new single Dream Or Something Like That on Saturday August 24 at Boney (the new venue where infamous late night dive Pony once stood). He can now announce fantastic supports in Geoffrey O’Connor and Early Woman (stay tuned for exciting Geoffrey O’Connor news soon)!

Dream is the first single from new album Off By Heart, which comes out on Chapter Music on October 4.
